Social JusticeThe Student Social Justice Group is comprised of representatives from each year level plus anyone else who is interested meet weekly to organise annual funding raising activities and to respond to ad hoc situations. Some of the social justice activities include:
Students at Catholic College also have access to a range of social justice camps and immersion experiences. These camps and experiences include: Diocesan "Justice Matters' camps. 2009 Theme: Called to Justice - called to reconciliation. Facilitator: Margareta Brosnan - a young woman with a passion for social justice and education who has had extensive experience in both international and national settings.
Mercy ‘Seeds of Justice' camps. 2009 Theme: Community in Diversity. Students will have the opportunity to ‘step out' to gain awareness of the plight of those less fortunate. Environment Group
The College also operates a Student Environment Group. This group is comprised of representatives from each year level plus anyone else who is interested to meet fortnightly to discuss current issues and to decide on the projects to be pursued. |
